Recently, CrossFit Survival’s Weightlifting Coach, Shannon Franklin, had an opportunity to write a few articles for Breaking Muscle magazine.
The articles focused on auxiliary exercises that masters (and beginning) weightlifters can do to build a more sound structure and alleviate common weaknesses we’ve noticed in newer and/or older lifters as well as mobility tools we use to keep our athlete’s healthy.
The first article can be found here: https://breakingmuscle.com/strength-conditioning/how-to-build-longevity-of-sport-in-masters-weightlifters
The second article focuses on mandatory mobility movements we include in the program design for these same newer and/or older lifters, as we feel building up good habits and teaching newer lifters how to keep themselves mobile and flexible is critical to longevity in the sport.

CrossFit Survival’s weightlifting team is just one of the many ways we differentiate ourselves from other CrossFit programs in the area. If you’re interested in checking out a team practice, call to set an appointment. We train Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm-9pm and Saturdays from 9am- 11am.
